Welcome to the Western Australia Multicultural Association Inc. (WAMA).


  1. To promote multiculturalism and social cohesion for all members of our community
  2. To coordinate and facilitate cultural, recreational, educational activities and significant community events
  3. To provide information and empower all community members to access services available
  4. To promote these objectives and associated activities through various media channels


The Association was formed (prior to its incorporation in August 2013) to support the Abruzzese Emigrant Association of Australia raise funds (with the support of Lottery West) and complete the Community Pavilion Project at Ozone Park, East Perth in collaboration with the City of Perth. The Pavilion was opened on 23 March 2014.

Since then, in collaboration with various culturally diverse communities, WAMA has supported new and emerging communities build capacity by providing information and education programs. WAMA has coordinated and participated in a range of events including:

  • Multicultural Festival in 2012
  • The Damayang Filipino Inc Mother Dear International Queens Fest 2013
  • Multicultural Festival for the opening of the Community Pavilion March 2014
  • Moon Children Festival 2014
  • Cultural information sessions
  • Workshops and education programs for culturally and linguistically diverse communities, service providers and seniors
